Our Story

Sarah Janali Consulting was established by Principal, Sarah Janali, in 2022. The much sought-after skills that Sarah brought to clients meant the Consultancy had a hugely successful first year of operations, taking on projects such as the co-design, development, and facilitation of the evaluation training for local government professionals, the development of a guide and toolkit for local governments to aide implementation of multiculturalism, facilitation and activation of the WA Welcoming Cities network, custom development and facilitation of community development training and coaching for place-based leaders at Anglicare WA and a Neighbourhood Watch program review for the City of Melville.  

In 2023, based on the demand for her skills and expertise, Sarah decided to bring on additional consultants and provide opportunities for partnerships where it benefitted clients. The shift to Janali & Co. was made in late 2023, with Sarah taking on the role of Founder and Principal.

Janali & Co. continues to draw on Sarah's distinctive community-building knowledge and extensive experience in diversity, inclusion, strategy, and engagement in local and state government and non-government sectors. Sarah handpicks consultants and partners, seeking out values-aligned professionals whose skill sets complement her own, bringing maximum benefit to clients and a commitment to project success. Projects undertaken by Janali & Co. are guaranteed to involve Sarah as Founder and Principal.

My passion for empowering communities,  and my belief in the power of community development as a framework for social change led me to establish Janali & Co. My vision for Janali & Co. is to offer clients a consulting practice grounded in community development principles and focused on building connected, resilient, and inclusive communities.

At Janali & Co. we love to work at the intersections of place, community and culture. Our community focussed, impact driven team bring a depth of experience in place-based work, social planning, and community driven approaches. We are cultural enthusiasts, with decades of experience working in intercultural contexts navigating complex cultural dynamics to achieve outcomes with communities.
