The City of Rockingham is a Local Government Authority in Perth Western Australia, that is known for its work in community sector development. At Janali & Co. we believe that local government plays an important role in facilitating place-based social outcomes through building connections and supporting local service systems to work effectively and respond to the needs of their residents. We were delighted to have the opportunity to support the City of Rockingham with its 2023 Community Support Services Mapping Project.

We worked with our partner with Marsden Jacob Associates to undertake a: 

• Desktop review of City strategies and plans, population data, and state/national research 

• Comprehensive engagement process with sector representatives from a diverse range of fields through a survey, interviews, and focus groups  

• Digital mapping of community service locations 

• Development of the detailed Community Services Mapping 2023 Report

• Development of a visual summary overview of findings 

Through this work, Janali & Co. were able to help the City of Rockingham: 

• Raise awareness of the prevailing trends affecting the community sector 

• Provide insights to help guide the delivery of services, aligning with the evolving needs of the community 

• Support collective advocacy efforts that address service gaps and other challenges confronting the sector 

• Inspire new initiatives and partnerships that leverage the strengths of the sector to respond to community needs
