The Young Australia League (YAL) is WA’s oldest youth organisation. Since 1905 they have supported young Australians to grow and reach their potential.

The YAL engaged Janali & Co. to support them in developing a guiding evaluation framework and an evaluation plan, aimed at helping measure the difference they make in the lives of young people through their YAL Connect Program. Like many organisations, the YAL recognises the importance of ensuring that its evaluation efforts measure what matters most - the difference it makes in the lives of young people.

To support YAL to achieve its goals, Janali & Co. : 

• Engaged with staff to build clarity and understanding of their evaluation context 

• Reviewed existing evaluation and data collection tools 

• Collaborated to design an overarching evaluation framework to guide evaluation efforts

• Collaborated to design an evaluation plan for YAL Connect that included refining the existing program logic model, co-designing output and outcome indicators, and identifying qualitative and quantitative data collection tools  

• Provided coaching along the way to help build the team’s understanding of contemporary evaluation practice with a particular focus on using stories to demonstrate outcomes and impact
